Melanie started her interest in the transport industry while serving in the United States Army where she operated and was responsible for large transport loads throughout Germany. During her service she held a high-level security clearance and hazardous cargo credentials. Upon starting her family, she transferred into the administrative side of operations. Upon completion of her commitment to the Army, Melanie returned to the United States where she worked in the customer service field while attending Brookstone Business College, where she received her diploma in business administration.
Upon hearing of an opening for an administrative position where her husband worked (BRC), Melanie made the decision to apply and was hired in 2015. Since then her responsibilities have grown as the fleet has grown to include supervisor vehicles, service trucks, box trucks and heavy haul trucks. The roll has its challenges, with requirements of sourcing oversized, overweight permits, and pilot services throughout the Mid-Atlantic, including IFTA regulations and FMCSA/DOT compliance.
In addition to her work at BRC, Melanie enjoys time in the mountains camping, hiking and nature walks along beautiful river beds with her family.
